Venue Information
THE VENUE
The venue which includes the Start/Finish/Vetgate, camping area, and the onsite stabling, is situated within the Bathurst Estate at Cirencester Park. ( NGR 994024 Landranger Sheet 163). Access to, and departure from the venue is via the Park entrance at “Two Mile Lodge” on the A419 - Cirencester - Stroud road. There is a one way traffic system operating within the Park, which must be adhered to at all times. The venue will have specific areas designated for particular activities, so please observe the directions, and park, where directed by ride officials. All vehicles must display the pass enclosed with these ride details.
THE ROUTE
The route consists of a mixture of bridleways and private tracks with some lengths of public road. It is based on the ‘short’ multi loop route used in recent years. This year the loop containing the steep stoney track and the bridle path through the polo pony field (between Crewpoint B and Crewpoint C) has been taken out.
There is a single Vetgate / Halfway hold at the Venue. However with the confines of Cirencester Park and meeting the required vetgate spacing, it does mean that in order to achieve the longer distances the route has to be ridden several times.
The various route distances are colour coded at the points of divergence but all will be marked with ORANGE DAYGLO tape, reinforced where necessary with notices, arrows and coloured tape appropriate to the route being ridden.
There are 5 route distances though considerable lengths are common to all routes.
BRIEFING
Briefing for the ER Classes 1 to 4 will take place at 18.30 hours on Friday 16 June.
VETGATES
Hold Times and Closing Times will be announced at the briefing, then posted on the notice board.
CREWING
The roads around the park are narrow and at this time of year very busy with agricultural traffic. To avoid
unnecessary inconvenience to local people the following restraints have been introduced.
Only ONE crew vehicle per rider is allowed. Riders are asked to ensure that the vehicle used by their crew clearly
displays their riders number in the windscreen. Horseboxes, lorries and coaches must NOT be used as back up
vehicles on the course.
Horses must ONLY be crewed at the designated CREWPOINTS. Crewing is not permitted at any other points on the
course. Care must be taken when entering and leaving these crew points and any instructions given by the stewards present must be obeyed.
Crew cars are not allowed in the Park other than at the Venue.
Where crewing is limited, permanently manned water points have been provided
THE OFFICE
The Office will be open from 1500hours on Wednesday (18th.) and will close 1900 hours. In view of the early start on Saturday for Class 1 and FEI classes, please show consideration and stable before 2100 hours on Friday.
